You can help your child adapt more easily to nursery
When you bring your child, don't leave them alone too quickly. Ensure that contact with the educator/assistant is established, and the child is ready to join the group.
Promise to pick them up after a specific activity (walk, lunch, sleeping time, etc.). It's crucial to keep your promises, otherwise, the child may feel deceived. The greatest fear for children is not being picked up from nursery. Your main task is to reassure them that you will definitely return and indeed come back when promised.
If you see that your child has settled, don't stay for too long. The educator will surely tell you how the day went and how your child reacted, and if necessary, contact you earlier.
We recommend coming up with your own goodbye ritual. It should be something quick, easy to understand and pleasant for you and the child. For example, you could hug, high-five, put kisses in pockets, wish each other something or say some words. You can discuss with the child and it is quite possible that the child himself will offer you some variant that he likes the most. Once you have decided on a ritual, stick to it all the time.
The best adaptation scheme for a child is gradually extending the time they stay at the nursery. Start with three (maximum) hours, and if the child is comfortable, increase the time by +1, +2, +3 hours each day.
Always discuss with your child when you will pick them up (after fruit, lunch, nap) and keep your promises.
If at any stage the child feels uncomfortable - stick to the number of hours where the child feels no stress, and gradually return to the previous schedule.
The educators have extensive experience working with children; they are professionals interested in earning your children's trust and wanting them to stay in nursery as long as possible.
In case of any questions or doubts, you can always contact the kindergarten director.
